Free Dock Review for Mariners' Wharf, Elizabeth City

This is a great stop.. Short docks are great for power boats that back in. Not much tide, so you can either step off the swim platform or step off the gunwale. Restaurants are short walk away.. Many other stores within a bike ride away.. Marina is in a park setting on the water front. Well lit at night. All wind protection except for heavy south east winds. Light south east winds no problem. Very little wakes because boats slow for the bridge. There is water available under a plate near the drinking fountain. Trash cans for garbage.
The slips have piles at all four corners of the boat to tie off. So no banging into a sea wall. Any small waves come on your nose, so no issue.
The slips have different widths that vary from 8 to 18 feet. The width of the slip is painted in yellow on the sea wall at the head of the slip.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

I did decide to take a mooring ball a day later. Larry the dock master was such a good help. We didn’t see any current issues.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
