Stopped here again on our way home. Wound up staying for four days waiting for the winds to lay down. The marina is in a very well protected harbor so we barely felt the constant 20 mph winds that regularly gusted to 30+. Entrance to the harbor is a bit tricky and there are some spots where it's a bit shallow, I definitely stirred the bottom up when I was pulling into the slip but didn't touch bottom. Can't say enough about Capt Billy and his hospitality. He didn't leave us until he had the boat tied in to his likings and that the twin 30A to 50A adapter was working fine. When he was all done he asked if we needed groceries or anything from town when he went in that night to have dinner with a friend. We had provisioned two days before and only needed more eggs. Next morning the eggs were delivered. Whenever I talked with him he would ask if we needed anything from town. We didn't need to use his showers and rest rooms so I can't comment on them but they have the sweetest tasting water. Fueling was a little slow because he triple filters the fuel. The hoses and nozzles are brand new, he changed them just after we were there in mid May, and his price was the second lowest that we had paid on the Chesapeake. The Ingram Bay Marina is not a high brow marina and won't appeal to every body but if you're into a well protected marina with all the services, pump out included, and FANTASTIC hospitality then this is the place for you, I know it is for us and we'll be back there anytime we are in the Chesapeake.

Contacted the marina and spoke with Mary, a very lovely person, and said we'd be coming in for fuel the next day. She said to give them a 1/2 hour heads up so someone would be at the fuel dock to meet us. As so oft happens on the Bay, the weather was nasty the next day so we didn't go. We left the following day and called, Mary said there'd be someone there. Entry was easy as the channel is well marked but you need to stay in the channel as it gets very shallow outside the channel. The marina is very well protected. Billy met us at the fuel dock and assisted my wife with tying up. Billy is extremely friendly and my wife and I had a wonderful time talking with him as we fueled. Fuel price was great and with the discount for 200+ gallons it was the cheapest we paid for fuel since leaving Wilmington, NC. We highly recommend this marina. Next time we're in the area and need fuel we'll be stopping here!!!
