Visited Daufuskie Island late October 2022 via county dock (which is a perfectly adequate floating dock). If one has an adventurous spirit, and an open mind, this island can make for quite an enjoyable excursion. Very friendly locals. Highly recommend School Grounds Coffee!

Anchorage Review for Vernon River - Possum Point

Nice spot. Very little boat traffic. Houses to the NE were beautiful and the marsh on the other side was scenic. Despite only a slight NE evening breeze, only encountered a couple straggler insects. Current was strong (in-line with area) and dictated facing direction. Anchor held well and came up clean.

Dockmaster Hal was very helpful along with another dockhand. Nice laundry room and clean bathroom/showers. Gate code needed to access the marina so felt very safe. Tubby's Tank House was just a short walk and was top-notch (great food, great service, very clean restaurant - obviously a local favorite). The Krispy Kreme donuts were such a nice treat!
