Great place to stage for crossing to the Bahamas. Some things we've learned while here:
    1. The pump out station apparently does NOT work.
    2. There is NO water to fill your tanks, showers or washers/dryers available (rumor is there use to be back 2014?)
    3. Closest fuel, pump out and water we found are at Crandon Park Marina about 3-4 miles away
    4. Tide can be significant at the dinghy dock. We used our pup's like jacket to hoist him up (like a suitcase) on to the seawall.
    5. Key Biscayne has a free transportation service called FreeBee. It takes you all over Key Biscayne (only- not to Miami ) Tips are appreciated. Download the app.
    6. There is NO coin-op laundry on Key Biscayne. We found a coin-op laundry and Walmart near each other in Miami on West Flager Street. Doubling up chores made the Uber trip worth it to us.
    7. Uber is roughly $30 one-way to get to the stores mentioned in #6
    8. There are no car rentals (Hertz/Enterprise etc) on Key Biscayne (and the cars listed on Turo as being on the island never responded)
    9. There is a bus that will take you to Miami, we didn't try it
    10. The Winn-Dixie, CVS and Ace Hardware are about 1 mile away
    11. Boater's Grill & The Cleat - the restaurant and bar at the park next to the Harbor are meh and pricey! ($9/ beer at the restaurant and I heard $62 for a whole snapper @ "market price" at the restaurant.
    12. You can have Amazon packages delivered to The UPS store on Key Biscayne (approximately 1.9 miles away). You MUST add "Hold for pick up" or "Virtual Doorman" to the address line or they will return it. They charge $5-$25 to pick up based on the size of the box.
    13. It definitely gets busier (crowded) on the weekends inside the harbor
    14. We saw approximately 13' depths and put out 75' of chain which held- just don't let anyone drag over your anchor (ask me how we learned that one)

Initially booked 3 nights so we could fuel up, have access to shore power, laundry, showers etc., but ended up staying a total of 5 nights due to weather. I truly appreciate Karen, the dock master, fitting us in for those 2 extra nights. It's a quiet friendly marina. The floating docs look new. The restaurant was just okay (we ordered burgers and fries). Note the restaurant is closed on Monday & Tuesday. The showers need a deep clean in my opinion. The laundry is $2/ wash & $2/dry. The change machine does not work - see the office if you need quarters. It was a short walk to town. There's a Family Dollar, CVS and Walgreens near by. Only true negative for us was the pump out service was not available and apparently has not been for some time. If you need a pump out in Monroe County you need to make arrangements with On the Hook Marine (https://www.onthehookmarine.com, (305-833-1978) a mobile pump out service.

12/19/23- FYI reportedly don't have diesel. Closest diesel is supposedly Telemar Marina.
