With the steady stream of boats traveling north the bridge may not be opened on "your" demand as the boat with full sails up expected would happen, they were asked to wait for ten minutes so that a group of boats could use the same opening during rush hour.
The bridge operator did a great job managing both types traffic.

Still asking for the Coast Guard documentation number.

Well run marina, nice floating docks, courtesy car and a mile to downtown Beaufort.

We had to wait for 45 minutes while a fuel barge was being filled but I'm not complaining, its well worth the wait for fresh fuel at over a dollar a gallon less than the marina 300 yards to the south.
Purchase of 100 gallons or more needed.

We dropped the hook around 3pm on a Sunday in 18 feet, you may as well have been in Miami, the boat traffic was crazy. After the "get home from the sand bar for dinner" rush finished, it became a very nice anchorage. We are still here on Monday and it's totally different with very few boat passing by.
We didn't go a shore so we can't comment on access or shopping.

Great spot to get in quick with lots of room.
Anchored in the dark on our way north after not feeling comfortable with previous spots that we checked out. We didn't go as for as the pin on the map maybe 300 yards off the ICW and anchored in 12 feet of water an hour after low tide.
Pretty spot to watch the sunrise over the marsh.

We were going to anchor close to the anchor indicated on the app, a boat that was already anchored radioed and said that they anchored close to where we were going to drop the hook and ended up hard a ground before low tide. We ended up anchoring closer to the yacht club in 20 feet without a problem. FYI we had a 7.2 foot tidal swing during our stay.

Anchored just west on the south side in 18 feet of water not the 4 that our charts said. Great holding. You are in a marsh, the no-see-ums are plentiful.
