Reached the lock at 10:30 am on 5/7/24 to find it closed for repairs. Was told by the lock master it would open at 12:00. At 12:30 they reported the completion time for repairs is now unknown. Might call ahead to check status.

Great overnight stop. Ann was very quick to respond and sent suggestions for places to eat within walking distance. Tied up to a concrete wall- had power and water. Nice park beside the dock if you have pets or children traveling with you.

We stopped here on a trip headed east. The harbormaster told us to turn to starboard as soon as we went under the bridge and stay close to the shoreline to avoid a sandbar. Great place to dock for an overnight stay.

We stopped at Shell Morgan for a couple of days to do some engine repairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We tied up to a concrete wall so we put several fenders on our starboard side. No issues with depth getting into or out of the dock. Lots of mosquitoes!

We arrived early in the morning to find the lock closed for maintenance until 7:00 pm and several barges lined up waiting for it to open. We decided to head south into the Gulf and bypass the lock. Might want to call ahead.

We stopped here for an overnight stay while heading east. There were a few crab pods to dodge but overall it was a safe anchorage for the night.
