Since we are a catamaran and wide, we opted to anchor just off the free dock. Nice protected anchorage near the bridge that has pretty red & green lights at night. I took a fabulous sunset picture here. Only complaint is when we woke up in the morning, mosquitoes were EVERYWHERE. They were all over our sliding door and Isinglass. The flies were thick too, but they may have hitched a ride from our previous location.

Great for a free dock! Sturdy! Easy to tie to the pilings. Easy walk with dogs to town and to the grocery store.
One note of caution: Watch your wind and water. The dock is fixed and short mostly (there are some higher up pilings but most are low and the dock is low). If your wind kicks up, you REALLY need to mind where you are on the dock. If there is surge for some reason, you do not want to be on the short pilings. Lesson learned here during Ophelia Tropical Storm.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Well it's free. Ideal use of this dock is to hang on a hook in the harbor until you have a north wind and need groceries. Then its a short hike to the Food Lion.
This is a new fixed dock with no services. Would not want to try to dock here is a brisk south breeze in a single screw boat (unless you do that often).View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Not free in summer of 2020. Is $1/FT plus power. Gregg manages the collection for the town dock in addition to running the Bellhaven marina. Gotta go see Diana, director of the Chamber across the street. Perhaps she may let you use her personal golf cart! The seafood processing pant is back open and you should find seasonal jumbo lump crab at the Ace hardware.

WG Editor Comment:
Note; The Cooperage location is still no charge. The Wynn's Gut location charges.
Many thanks,

Nice quiet marina away from the downtown area. Definitely have to back into the slip and lasso around the pilings. We were the only one docked on a Thursday night.

Stayed here Labor Day for 3 days. Nice finger pier docks, no cleats though. I called the phone number to register and they acted like they could care less. I just got an OK and then they hung up and never gave any info. Had the place all to myself except Saturday morning when people came to fish off the docks and in their boats. When you approach the docks it looks like it is far from downtown but it's not. Easy walk to downtown and easy walk to grocery store, convince stores and pharmacy. Only thing they need is to pressure wash the seagull mess!

The actual dock is a bit north of this marker. Just past red 12. Huge dock with room for 9 boats. 1/2 mile from town.

Free to dock for 2 hr. Another free dock is further up the bay, but further from town. Pump out is at dock. There is also a dinghy dock.
