The NJ ICW route swings away from the barrier beach through Gull Island Thorofare (beginning at Mile 101) and then crosses Great Sound and wiggles its way through Ingram Thorofare. Several 35-foot fixed bridges limit access to sailboats.
The resort town of Ocean City is set between the Atlantic Ocean, Great Egg Harbor Inlet and Great Egg Harbor Bay with elegant homes and a splendid beach. Docks run side-by-side along the NJ ICW route on the city waterfront and also across the harbor in Somers Point.
