Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, CAN
On the western side of the Niagara River, Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of the most charming towns in Ontario, replete with Colonial and Victorian architecture. Like so many other places in Canada, Niagara-on-the-Lake was also originally settled by relocated Loyalists following the American Revolution. Here, you will find yet another historic fort at which you can witness re-enactments of garrison forces preparing to battle the United States in the War of 1812.
The town is home to many cultural events throughout the summer. Some restored hotels with fine restaurants are a short walk from the marina up the hill to town. Queen Street offers plenty of unique shops, restaurants and entertainment but no major provisioning opportunities. Side trips to Niagara Falls or Niagara Peninsula wineries are a fun diversion.
The Waterway Guide Team has gained extensive boating knowledge over the years, and now we are sharing all of the tips, skills and tools we’ve picked up along the way!
