We love this small marina. It only has a few transient slips and floating docks. The other slips are occupied by commercial tourist vessels for sightseeing and more. The fun part is being next to the tall ship Elissa, which is berthed next door and walking distance of just about everything. The marina gives a dining freebie (appetizer or dessert type) at Willie G’s and Fisherman’s Wharf. It is within walking distance of the Strand, the Ocean Star museum and railroad museum. There’s also a small convenience/grocery store close by. There’s a lot to do for fun and entertainment, and many restaurants to choose from. The Galveston Island Trolley picks up in the Strand and can take you to Seawall Blvd with many more entertainment, shopping and restaurant options, as well as the beach. The marina does have key card bathrooms, but no showers. Water and electricity are provided, but no pumpout or fuel. It’s a good vacation spot and you can watch the cruise ships sail pass.

We’ve always had a good experience at Harbor House Marina, small though it is. I contacted them this afternoon for a stay next week and the hotel/marina is closed through April due to the Covic 19 virus.

If you want shopping and restaurants, this is a five star stop. If you want an easy and safe boating experience it is a one. Basically a one slip, no help, rocking experience. Better have thrusters to dock.

Close to everything - there are two nice restaurants looking down on the marina. I didn’t stay in the hotel, but there was no wake noticeable overnight. The restroom is around the corner at the hotel, and there are no showers or pump-out. They have WiFi, but it is a little weak.

Be aware that this marina is pretty small. It has finger-slips, enough to hold about 12 boats. However, if your boat is larger than 40 feet and does not have bow thrusters, it will be a challenge getting in and out. Recommend you look at satellite images on Google Maps or Earth. When I was there, the only other boat was a commercial tour boat.

It is a pretty nice marina in a great location. I wish I could have stayed for the Dickens Street Festival.

Easy walk to the Strand. Breakfast at Harbor House is included in the slip fee. Very few slips available for transients.
