We stayed here on our way to the Hudson. For $85 you don't get a dingy landing and have to pay the marina next door $10 for the day. Granted they have a launch but with dogs that's problematic. As far as bathrooms and showers, they close at 4:30??? Apparently due to vandalism so they shut them down. Diesel prices in this port are also .50 cents above normal. We'll only stay here again if we are forced to but I will anchor next time. Plenty of room to anchor.

We have stayed in this harbor twice. The first time at anchor which is pretty far from the town and dinghy docking is not obvious. So this time we stayed on a mooring ball for $65. It was super easy to hail the tender and get to town. It is really a cute town to walk around. We ate at JoeZ's off the main road with our dogs outside. The food was delicious, the drinks strong and they were very nice to our puppies. There aren't many facilities at all here and like I said, nothing is obvious. You have to hunt around and ask for what you need.

Reservations for the moorings are made through Dockwa, and are $65 per night. Contact the launch service via VHF 68 to get a ride to the harbormaster building where there are two washers and two dryers, plus shower facilities. The showers could be cleaner, but we've seen worse. Be sure to get the code to get into the building from the launch guys. There's a self-serve pump out at the town dock, but we didn't need to use it. But we did need water, and contacted the launch service via VHF 68 when we entered the harbor to ask where we might fill our tanks. The dock for water is just north of the gravel barges, and has good depth. We enjoyed a beer at the Port Jeff Brewery and took advantage of the great Happy Hour specials at Billie's 1890 Saloon. Good stop!

Called ahead to make sure there was a mooring that would be appropriate for our tonnage (270,000 lbs). They had a mooring with 1000 pounds of weight on the bottom. We moored but kept an eye on the anchor watch periodically throughout the night - we didn't move other than an arc around the mooring. Weather was calm. The reason I belabor this point is this was a first for us and we wanted to err on the side of caution. People in the harbor were very helpful and friendly. Picturesque town. Enjoyed watching the ferry from Connecticut. I would go back again because it was nice and peaceful. We were there midweek end of July.
