We had a nice stay at The Boathouse Marina. We' were greeted by three dockhands despite our arrival right at closing time. Approach in channel is well marked and we carried 6-7 feet all the way in. Current can be moving at entrance to Monroe Bay. Captain's Lounge, baths and showers are all clean and well maintained. Use of golf cart to roam around Colonial Beach was included with slip fees and a lot of fun. A great way to explore Marina Way and the town! October is really quiet here. Much more going on in Summer months, but still a great stop on a cruise up/down the Potomac. Watch for the many crab traps as you get closer to shore on your approach to Monroe Bay!

6-22-24 Well marked approach, we had 6-7 feet of water but failed to check the tide on our arrival. Very friendly staff and use of the golf cart. We stayed several days, exploring the town. Several restaurant options. A grocery and other food options are available with bikes or scooters.

Very friendly staff work hard to meet all your needs. Nice clean captains lounge available 24 hours. Very clean restrooms and showers. A boaters supply store handles many items that you may need. Located in a town that takes you back in time. Many good places to eat. Use the marina's golf cart if you would like. Protected waters. Some fixed and some floating docks. The owner is a boater as well and lives on site so he is aware of how conditions impact other boaters. Great stop.

Great marina! We were met by 2 line handlers who did a great job. Everyone from the owner Bill to his staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean restrooms and you can even use their loaner golf cart. I would definitely stop there again.

I'd give more starts, but can't. Bill and his staff are fantastic. They have a golf cart available for trips around town and to the Food Lion.

Great marina and town! The staff is friendly & accommodating. Reasonable rates on marine services & supplies. Located closer to town center and beaches on the Potomac (both are great!), and the provide use of golf cart for exploring area and going to Food Lion for provisions. Well-appointed Captains Lounge, including some grocery items for sale ( e.g., eggs & milk), and individual bathrooms with toilet, sink, and shower. Bill and his team are great! We loved our stay! It's a perfect stop 1/2 way up the Potomac to DC (or when going back downriver). And Colonial Beach is a gem of a town.

What a nice stop and enchanting town. Bill and his team have put a ton of effort in improving the facilities and their customer service is excellent. They have nice dock, excellent showers, a marine supply store, repair facilities all located in a protected cove. They also have a golf cart to use to go visit the grocery store or one of the many restaurants in town.

Navigation charts make this look like a questionable endeavor. However, the channel is well marked and deep all the way to this particular marina. If you need repairs performed or need to have your boat hauled, experienced mechanics and a 25-ton travel lift are on site. Floating docks and clean private bathrooms are always a bonus, but a golf cart that you can use for a run to the grocery store or a meal at one of several restaurants is exceptional.
The marina owner is a "collector", and has a plethora of boating treasures, wooden boats, cars, photos, and memorabilia of all sorts on the property for you to peruse.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
