We draw 5'7" and had plenty of water all the way in. Scott, the dockmaster was extremely helpful. When we called him outside the channel at R20, he had already been following us on AIS. He was there waiting for us at the dock and it was nice to have an ex yacht skipper handling our lines. The basin inside the marina is huge and maneuvering was easy. The basin is protected and calm. There is a pool and hot tub in the marina and bicycles are free to use. We did see a kayak rack but never asked if they were also free. The marina restaurant was outstanding! Some of the best food we have had. This marina is an outstanding stop!

Scott and his team always provide us with first-rate service when fueling our boats. We are so lucky to have a great fuel dock so conveniently located near our home dock.

Spent the night- easy access, solid floating docks, great Staff. The boater's lounge and showers were well maintained. River Dunes is a laid back community with bicycles, kayaks, pool/hot tubs, fire pits- all for your use. The dinner at the club was top notch without breaking the bank! Our two doodles had plenty of space for walks- they even supply 'bags' for the pups. Definitely a do again!

If you are looking for a "Yacht Club" experience, this is the place. Good docks, good dock hands that help get the boat tied up. Very nice club facility that serves dinner 4 nights a week, and a small grill for lunch that is open 6 days a week. Small store with little sundries but very expensive.
And they have a pool! Restrooms and showers adjacent to the Captain's lounge, all very nice.
Marina is the focal point for a small planned community that is still growing. About 7-8 miles from Oriental, so that's not an option and nothing else close by, so you either use their facilities or you are on your own. They do have a courtesy car, but they limit it's use, so need to take that into consideration.
Very protected harbor, so no wakes or waves to disturb those that get disturbed by those things.
Would visit again if the trip warranted a stop.

The Ritz. Modern floating docks in well protected private gated community. Some of the best bathrooms on the loop. Loaner car. Loaner bikes. Loaner kayaks. OnSpot Wi-Fi. Verizon antenna on site. Swimming pool. Quality restaurant. Beautiful walking and biking trails. The down side is it's remote. There is no nearby town or services. No AT&T.

This is a great marina. Easy to get into the marina and the fuel dock is an easy approach. Nice wide floating docks. A nice little store and 2 good restaurants. A nice pool and all the facilities are super clean. Lots of places to walk our dog with good sidewalks and lots of green space.

Went back there this year and again had a great experience. The facilities were excellent and service was good but not as good as previous years. A previous reviewer reported running aground in the channel. I have not had this experience there however unless local knowledge says otherwise, I stick to the center of narrow channels.

This is a bonafide review from my trip to River Dunes on October 29, 2020. Upon arrival, I ran aground in the entry channel in 7.5 feet of water (per my depthfinder) due to what I felt were rocks in the port side of the channel. The next day, I had a diver confirm that my prop was trashed and then had the same diver walk the channel in the area of impact. He did indeed find multiple rocks at depths of 4.5 feet at points as far away as 9 feet from rocks on port side of the channel. I have the video proof of the rocks for anyone interested. I took the case to Scott Bearhope, Marina Operations Manager an he denied the presence of rocks even with the video evidence. Thus far they have been non-responsive to my reasonable request for the marine to pay for the damage to my boat from the unmarked obstacles in the channel. I love the marina, but the failure of the owners to take responsibility for my damage and then to either mark the channel appropriately or remove the rocks is unbelievable for a facility on this level.

An up market destination marina with very good facilities. Very sheltered and very quiet but limited WiFi on the docks. The facilities there are excellent but you need to use them to get the value for the cost per foot. Would stay again.

This is an excellent marina with a very friendly and helpful staff. It is quite a distance from town; however, there is a courtesy car available for a $20 fee. The food at the restaurant in the club house is very good and they have just opened Yawl’s Café across from the marina. It serves light fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads, in large portions at reasonable prices.
