The "dollar dock" is a great way to visit Belhaven NC. It has been two years since we visited last, and the town has much more now to offer. The ICW Brewery 300 ft away serves up fantastic tasting beer and other beverages. The hardware store 1/2 block down is well stocked, and a grocery store is a quick golf cart ride away. Many restaurants and other food options to choose from. A couple of fun stores to browse are here too.

Pump out hookup is located at the first dock on right as you enter the cove, not all the way down by the "pump out" sign in back of the cove(where we logically first docked for the pump out). $5 pump out. You need to purchase a token in the Belhaven marina office next door, retrieve the pump hoses from the dock box, hook up to boat, walk 300 feet to put token in machine, walk 300' back to boat to complete pump and return hoses to dock box. A lot of work for a pump out.

Otherwise, nice quiet cove within short walking distance to some nice restaurants, shops and pubs. Well worth the $1/ft. Fixed docks with benches to sit on

Windy and stormy forecast for next several days so came here for safe harbor. Town has some nice small town stores and people are friendly. Solid dock good place to hide from strong North winds. Still $1' and $5 for electric 30A. We have stopped here before for just pump outs. Thank you Belhaven for the hospitality. Previous reviews are accurate snapsot of this town.

We really enjoy Belhaven and the dinghy dock is close to most things in town. Unfortunately, the comment in the WW Guide about "free WiFi" is incorrect. Unlike it's close neighbor Little Washington, the Belhaven WiFi requires a password only given if you stay in Wayne's Cut and pay. We're anchored just outside, great signal, no password. We plan to go ashore to shop and eat. They could learn a thing or two from Little Washington.

    Business Response:
Thank you for your review. I will pass along your comments to the Town of Belhaven. The Chamber office is located right across the street from Wynne's Gut Town Dock and does have free WIFI available. In addition they offer a wonderful lounge with book exchange for your use. We hope to see you again!

Watch for the big white sign for Wynnes Cut Town Docks. There is a narrow approach channel with 8 ft depth off the Main harbor channel well marked by pilings. Stay in between those and do not try to go outside on the East to the end to the bulkhead where the sign is as there are numerous pilings just under the surface. Normal depth dockside 7.5 feet. Depth with NW wind blowing, 6.5 feet. There is very little turn around room, so easiest just to set for a starboard tie and then once on the dock warp the boat around for a port tie facing out. The cut is wide enough to allow this for a 50 ft boat. Free WiFi, but a bit weak out on the docks. Water and 30A power on the docks. Also a floating dock in the back for dinghies. If the dock looks full check just past the floating dock as there appears to be room for another boat there. The dock is right next to the main st with restaurants and the hardware store. No groceries or fuel nearby.

This could be a great place to visit the tiny, quaint town of Belhaven. The wharf is sturdy and nicely decked. There are 3 pairs of 30A outlets. Town is only a few steps away. When you arrive, call the Harbormaster, Greg, who is also the dockmaster at Belhaven Marina. He will come to the dock to register you and collect the fees.

The Chamber of Commerce has built a nice boaters' lounge, restrooms and showers (we are told). We never got to check them out or use them because we visited on a Monday when the Chamber is closed. The facilities are only open when the Chamber is open and they are closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The city has hired a Harbormaster to collect the fees, but they do not give him the ability to allow paying customers to use the restrooms. Tuesday is not the best day to visit since the outstanding restaurant, Spoon River, is closed that day. So, plan your visit on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Downtown Beaufort at its finest. Caters to visiting boaters. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping and laundry nearby.

Ideal location to town amenities. There is a hardware store and about 6 places to eat within walking distance. (Although a hike to the nearest grocery -Food Lion.)

This is a small confined basin that is protected from all weather. But.. if it's blowing hard from the south you want to make sure there is space before you go in there. Plan on tying up starboard side to the first dock (the one with the railing and the pump-out) to check out the basin for available space. If you have a single screw and you get down into the basin with a stiff southerly you might have a problem if there is no place to tie up.

The fixed docks are in great condition, have ladders and cleats on the pilings to make things easy. The pump-out requires a $5 coin available from town hall or the hardware store across the street.

(Note: other boater review refers to adjacent private marina - this one is not attended, there is no service)
