Very attentive dock hands. Yard is well taken care of and clean. Wi-Fi is so, so depending on where you are docked. Has a pool and laundry facilities and is close to shopping by dinghy to the other side of the bay. They also have repair services, small chandlery, haul out and heated storage.

Close to shopping but the anchorage is rolly with the boat wakes from the main channel. Not very good wind protection and the holding is not the best with lots of weeds. Kings Wharf Theatre is located on shore.

The bottom is soft mud, and most boats tie to shore as there is not a lot of room to swing on anchor. Very busy when we were anchored here but most of the boats respected their fellow boaters and kept the noise down. Seems to be popular spot with the locals' boaters as there were groups that rafted together. All the land outside of the anchorage is private.

Some boats have reported hitting this rock. It is between the two islands as you make your way into the achorage. It is also hard to see until you are on top of it because of the water visibiity. Once in it is a nice place to visit with lots of room to anchor. There are also docks that you can pay to stay at if you are interested. Room for many boats so a place you can visit on weekends.

Not a lot of protection from a North wind. Watch for rocks. There is a Provincial park at this anchorage with three designated beaches. Lots of people swimming in the area during the summer months. Can be a little noisy during the day.

Room for about 12 boats to anchor. Watch your chart as you enter the channel to the ancorage. Plenty of depth but narrow. Follow the charts closely and you will not have an issue getting into the anchorage. Most of the land is private so you need to pick your area to go to shore with pets. South wind could funnel into the anchorage if it is strong enough.

Anchorage Review for Brown Bay

Draft: 3.5'Overall Rating:2Holding:3Wind Protection:2Wake Protection:1Scenic Beauty:3Shore Access:1Pet Friendly:1Cell Service:2Brown Bay is easy to access but very open to winds and boat wakes. There are cottages all around the bay. Entering is easy and holding is not bad. Best to use this anchorage during the week when it is not as busy on the water, unless you like to boat watch. Weekends you could sit on your boat and admire all the boats going in and out of the area. Watch for rocks near the shore.

Draft: 3.5'Overall Rating:3Holding:3Wind Protection:3Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:3Shore Access:2Pet Friendly:2Cell Service:1The channel to get to Inner Bay is very well marked, with only one area that is 13'. Once into Inner Bay the area is surrounded by cottagers and the water is very dark so you cannot see what is below. The holding was not great and very open so you need to watch the winds. There may be other places to anchor but we did not explore the area. Its far from the main channel so not recommend as a stop over. Internet was not great.

Watch the entrance as there is rocks on your port side as you enter and there is a charted rock in the anchorage. It is marked with a white buoy as of August. Holding was not the best and the bottom is mud. Not a lot of access to land as most of the area is private. Good stop over anchorage if you are travel the small craft route. This anchorage is know by the locals as Wani Bay.

Entrance can be scary on first visit but great depth in the center and no issue at all getting in. Reports of dead heads as you enter the South Bay but did not see any sign of them nor did we see any boats avoid the area of concern (2022). Lots of boats use this spot as a stop over. This anchorage is part of the Massasauga Provincial Park and you have to pay if you tie to shore.
