Brown Bay

Location: Georgian Bay
Lat / Lon: N 44° 56.926' / W 079° 53.364'
Depth: 13 to 14 feet
Description: Be wary of unmarked rocks throughout this area and submerged power lines in the bays. Much of the land is private, so ask permission before going ashore. Keep in mind that the Massassauga Rattlesnake calls this area home. Wear boots, and watch where you put your hands.

Brown Bay is easy to access but very open to winds and boat wakes. There are cottages all around the bay. Entering is easy and holding is not bad. Best to use this anchorage during the week when it is not as busy on the water, unless you like to boat watch. Weekends you could sit on your boat and admire all the boats going in and out of the area. Watch for rocks near the shore.
