You can tuck in pretty far or stay out a bit. Plenty of room for quite a few boats. Expect some residual wakes from those transiting north/south to Tahiti beach area. This is a calmer place to be than Tahiti and you can easily dinghy up. We searched the anchorage for possible snorkeling. There are rocks in the anchorage close to the homes with their own docks and sea walls. No coral growth but lots of reef fish in the area. Bottom in the anchorage is generally sand and sea grass. Lots of turtles. Look for sandy spots. Beware of sunken debris including at least two long dock pilings, a cement mooring, and other tree limbs and rocks. Don't miss the old Far Side Castle Turret while you're anchored here. Cell service TMobile was 1 bar.
