Large mooring field with limited anchorage in deeper water. Dinghy dock has sections for resident boats and smaller guest dock. Walk to road and able access to Island Explorer bus. Somesville Museum & Gardens features exhibits about Mt Desert Island's work in research labs, science and climate change.

Pretty spot after a pretty sail up the fjord! Limited anchor space outside the mooring field in deep water, so ability to let out sufficient scope is limited. Fine for settled weather but have seen this place become a disaster zone during squalls. Super convenient access at the dinghy dock (donations kindly requested for the land trust) and the MDI shuttle stop is right there, great for accessing Acadia.

There is nothing here but peace and quiet. We moored on an empty buoy but there is also plenty of room to anchor in the harbor. The dinghy dock is short walk into the village which has no shops but is a pretty walk.
