Anchored about 50 yards further up the bay from marker in 20'. Well protected from wind except when out of the North. Very peaceful with tree lined shore.

It is reported that there is a lot of submerged standing timber in Big Springs Lake. We chose not to test this and stayed in the deepest water (creek beds) when venturing off the main channel to minimize our risk. It worked this time.

Enter Jackson Camp arm at 416.5 RDB from the main channel and take aim at the back of the old creek to move from 30+ feet of water (414 pool) at the mouth of the cove gently shoaling to 23 feet at the anchorage icon. Continuing up the old creek bed another 0.4 miles put us in 16 feet of water with excellent protection from wind, wakes, and waves in all directions except the southeast. There is excellent holding in mud with room for six or more boats without having to explore the several interesting cuts on the western shore that might be good anchorages as well. Shore access is indicated by a boat ramp icon at the head of the bay but it was not visible. There is no T-Mobile service, 1 bar on ATT and 2 bars for Verizon. Internet service on Verizon only.
