Very scenic and quiet. Good holding in mud in 10' of water. Pick a cove based on the wind direction and relax. Shoreline is pretty steep and cell phone reception is poor, but idyllic otherwise.

Room for several boats. Quiet and peaceful anchorage. Concrete boat ramp for landing your dinghy. Campsites on shore. Deer, turkeys and other bird life at the shoreline to see from your boat.

Enter Sugar Bay by leaving the Channel north of the green mark at mm 35.8 and move into the charted deeper water outside the channel at the entrance to the Bay. At the center of this patch of deeper water steer SE towards the opening of the first arm off the south bank. Continue up this arm with water shoaling towards the rear. Good protection here in all directions. Alternatively, turn towards the back of the bay 200 feet off the south bank and continue in 20 feet of water winter pool towards the back of the bay several choices present themselves. There is the anchorage at the icon on the south side with 17 feet of water winter pool at the icon. Reported good holding in mud. There are also two attractive cuts on the north shore of the bay for maximum protection against north winds. Shore access is at the boat ramp located in the main arm behind the anchorage icon. Cell service is fair to good. This is a really good anchorage for any number of boats.
