We had to work a little at anchoring with a Danforth (3 Tries), but once we were stuck, we were stuck for the night in the rapid water with significant tidal increase (5ft).
This truly is a scenic spot. Worth going up river a bit to get out of any wind (we were traveling in 10 to 20kts of NNE in Delaware Bay) and enjoy the beautiful sunset. The flies are real in all that marsh, but good screens do the trick.
The dogs loved the dock walk and the locals were friendly.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This anchorage proved to be a great in between spot. We passed by the anchorages at the start of the river to find a bit more protection from winds. We anchored a little further in of the anchor symbol, in about 20 feet of water at mid-tide. The current is steady and changing but our Rocna stuck in the mud bottom. The horse flies were present, but the wind we had shooed them mostly away. The Bait Box Restaurant is a dinghy ride away and we hear they have great crab cakes, but we opted to stay on the boat and grill.

FYI, this river has really strong currents and we held firm.
We pulled in here after fighting wind & waves headed to Cape May. Only stayed one night and were back out. Chart depths are not accurate. I pretty much saw 20 - 25 foot depths the entire way.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
