Here at times of record low water levels and still anchored in 20'. Slight current but with some gusty winds opposite made it a little weird to figure out which force would win. Half a dozen boats there and still room for more.

Totally protected from barge wakes. Arrived around 3 PM and only 2 other boats, later 6 other boats arrived and we ended up with around 10 boats with room to spare. Very little current, in fact, wind positioned you more than the current. Anchored with 50 feet of 5/8 chain and 60 feet of anchor line.

Initially, we had the place to ourselves. We dropped our hook in 25 feet of water with 100 feet of chain. The current and wind kept us pointing upriver. Eventually, 2 other boats joined us in this stunning spot. There was room for many more (20+?) boats. Our Rochna Vulcan anchor held well and came up clean. We had 3 bars on our T-Mobile phones.

Best shore access for doggo is about a mile down river at the park just downstream of the highway bridge. A short walk up the hill will get you the VERY small town of Dover with a restaurant and convenience store.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
