Description:
Anchor in 12' behind the island and above the boat ramp. Clear, cold water. Great views. Some noise from the popular motorcycling road on the RDB. Near the end of navigation. Requires passing through abandoned railroad trestles, spaced about 40' apart. Split the distance between the island and the boat ramp as you move behind the island. Plenty of water, but no shortage of snags along the banks, so exercise appropriate caution.

Beautiful view. Stay in the channel or you may hit standing trees.

Narrow space between island and shore. Lots of dead trees in the water. Current from dam holds you in place unless the wind is blowing in the opposite direction.
Not the place to anchor if you want a view of the Smokeys. You can only see a tiny sliver from here.
Good shore access at boat ramp.
Noise from nearby highway, lots of motorcycles.

What a beautiful view. We were able to take our dog ashore at the boat launch next to the anchorage. Great spot to Kayak or Paddle Board. We also took our tender up to see the dam, the Harley Davidson store and Thor a glimpse of the Tail of the Dragon. I encourage you to take a very quick dip in the crystal clear ice cold mountain water.
