We were the only boat anchored, but there is a boat ramp and we saw plenty of fishing boats go by. We walked the park at the boat ramp and took the dinghy across the inlet to Amelia Island State Park to walk around. We saw signs at both parks stating no dogs allowed.

We anchored between the boat ramp and the entrance off the ICW. Followed SW edge of the river and saw nothing less than 4 ft. under the boat at low tide. There is a nearby sandbar to dinghy to.

I anchored midway between the boat ramp and Nassau Cutoff good holding in sand with reversing current swings. Avoid large shoal on north side of Sawpit Creek.

Enter with no less than 7' mlw at the entrance deepening to 10 – 12 feet mlw as you proceed towards the boat launch. Do not go beyond the boat launch as the water shoals rapidly. Anchor in the strong reversing tidal current with sufficient scope to hold as you swing. Your boat will orient itself to the tidal flow. Holding is good in sand. Wake protection depends on how nice the small craft from the boat launch are. Wave protection is good but you will get winds over the marsh. Shore access and trash disposal is at the boat launch and there is plenty of beach to walk. Good cellular reception for all carriers. One of the better anchorages between Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville.
