This place is packed full of junk boats. A real problem for Florida.
I couldn't find room to get in here. We moved on to The Bridge of Lions

Worked well for us and our 7’ draft.
Pros: Big anchorage w/ plenty of room for 8-10 boats, or more. We found lots of deep water and anchored fairly close to the channel in 16-20’ depths. Good holding with 75’ of chain and not a lot of movement with the current. Stiff breeze meant no bugs. Good for a quick overnight stay.
Cons: 4 abandoned boats anchored here, kinda creepy. Had lots of Boat wakes during daylight hours, but it was a holiday weekend. No place to go for fun.

    Would definitely use it again.

Went a little further north and anchored east between R17 and R15 in 6' of water under me at high tide.(3' tidal range). Have protected gear so not worried. Quiet at night. Some wakes during the day. Saw 2 groups of pink flamingos on the shoreline in the morning.

Lagoon very quiet, eaay to find and enter, deep 7' and more. I do not understand why boats stay out in the canal.

Still about a half dozen "abandoned" boats. Hurricane Matthew relocated some. Quiet. Make sure anchor is set. Tide was 5' at highest.
