There is plenty of room in the anchorage for more boats than will ever visit with depths decreasing as you move closer to shore. There's a spot here for everyone with shallow to moderately deep drafts. Good protection from N and E, we found some swell coming in as winds turned toward SE but very manageable. There are hiking trails, but beware of poison wood. There's quite a bit growing here. We kayaked around the island and found little coral, but lots of rocky areas. The sunken barge in the NW corner always is visible and provides a good fish haven. This is a very easy snorkel for children or anyone who doesn't want to fight currents or swim a lot. You'll likely find crabs, small fish, small conch, turtles and rays in the surrounding sea grass. We had WiFi through our ALiV MIFI. Good holding in sand in 6 to 8 feet of water at mean low tide. Trail to ocean side beach and trail to the top of the "Bluff" overlooking the anchorage take off from the northernmost beach. The sandbar on the south end of the island is beautiful at low tide. Many turtles and dolphins in the area.
