We have anchored here twice in 2023. Both times it took two tries to get the anchor to bite. Once it did, we held well, and we felt comfortable leaving the boat to go to shore. Winds were out of the northeast, so we were in the lee with very clam water. There is little or no current.

New Plymouth has a nice dinghy dock and plenty of place to grab a bite to eat, shop and get some provisions.

Not a bad anchorage but very exposed to South through NorthWest winds/waves. Lots of boat traffic in/out of Black Sound with resulting wakes. New Providence is a great place to visit and re-provision. Rent golf carts to explore the Cay.

Good holding but open to south, west and north. Lots of wakes from power boats and ferries. Easy dinghy ride to both Black and White Sounds. Gas only is available at Sunset Marine in Black Sound ( they close at noon on Saturday). Green Turtle Club in White Sound has been rebuilt with new docks and has both gas and diesel. Good local restaurants in both harbors, including the famous Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar.

Holding is good in sand and some grass, 5-8 feet mean low water. Some wind protection from the northeast-east only. Dinghy access is in the town harbor next to the large public dock. Curry's Food Store has a dinghy dock as well. You can also tie next to the large government dock on the outside. Expect many frequent wakes, especially from the ferries.
