Bridge comment on Donald Ross Bridge

This bridge is still not opening for boat traffic and the anchorages are full well north of Jupiter Inlet. I recommend calling ahead if you are looking for a slip anywhere in the Jupiter area.

Nice place, nice people. They keep it up well and have a matter-of-fact kind of good service that I appreciate.

We did the Lower Hell Gate as near to slack as possible but then the Upper Hell Gate was still against us. Lonely and wild...

Anchorage Review for North Cove Mooring Field (FREE)

The fishers cast out about that far, so it can be a bit odd. The rule with the yacht club moorings is that you can grab any one that's empty, but might get booted if the owner shows up. I've called the club and been able to confirm that I was on a safe one, but that might not always be the case. Use the town dock as a dinghy dock for accessing restaurants and shopping, of which there is a ton. The walk to the main drag is nice, runs along a school, and Main St has multiple bookstores as well as a nice hardware store and plenty of food.

I was predisposed to dislike them for filling a Harbor of Refuge with mooring balls, but they are as welcoming and accommodating and plain old helpful as any strangers I've met on the water. I've called the club and been able to confirm that I was on a safe one, but that might not always be the case. The town dock is just south, and that's the right place to use as a dinghy dock for accessing restaurants and shopping, of which there is a ton. Southwest winds were fin, but anything even a smidge north of west meant rollers rounding the land, and they were mean. It's almost a mile to the town pier and more than a mile to the kayak launch that's directly across the street from a Stop and Shop, liquor store, restaurants, etc. Ace Hardware and West Marine are a n easy walk from there, as is a laundromat. It seems to be a favorite short trip for local boats, so there are lots of lookie loos and some wakes...not the worst I've seen, though. T-Mobile was strong.

They accommodated us during the Covid spring, and were very communicative. The moorings are well marked and easy to find. Nice enough bathrooms, lots of hot water, but basic industrial showerheads. Slow dryer.

Easy, comfortable, and well-located. The bathrooms were spotless and warm in a cold season. The office gave good directions to the Matinuck Oyster Bar and they were right - superb.

The number one most welcoming folks I've met to date. It's the real friendliness and helpfulness that other places put on because "customer service" demands it. The marina to Breezeway (full kitchen and lounge) ratio is weighted toward Breezeway, which encourages the community feeling. Also - hot tub. Need I say more?

My boat has a 4' 9" draft officially, but I usually tell marinas it's 5'. This is one of those places where that extra seemed to be useful, because the approach to the northernmost slips is a narrow channel with sufficient depth, though it looks like there's plenty of water. The slips shallow as you get closer to land (as usual in the area), so padding your depth gets you farther out on the pier and also that little bit of extra comfort when a northern wind blows the water out of the bay. I found the marina staff to be friendlier than the yard staff, and they let me work on my boat some in the slip.

Marina Review for Burr's Marina

The folks at Burr's Marina are straightforward, trustworthy, and good at what they do. The fixed docks aren't luxurious, but they've been doing upgrades on the laundry and shower facilities, which are up a stairway (on a bit of a cliff). The Fishers Island ferries create some roll, so it can be nice to get a mooring behind the small rocky island for a little protection.
