VERY tight anchorage. The anchorage is only mooring balls. I arrived mid-September. There were several available. I did NOT see any place to drop an anchor for my size sailboat. I was advised to grab an outer mooring, due to my draft. I choose one on the inner boarder of the two fields. I got stuck in the mud at super-low tide.
It's a short walk to The Kate museum. Short shared ride to the FloGriswald art museum.Supermarkets are a shared ride (3 mi). Really nice restaurants and small market plus liquor store walking distance.

Friendly membervansered the phone at North Cove YC gave me tips. I saw no harbor master.

Arrived late and left early but it was great protection. It's late October and there were many unused mooring balls and we just grabbed one for the night. Great spot for an overnight. Did not go ashore.

Late night arrival very dark and skinny water. Picked up a mooring and left early in the morning 4:30am to catch the ride up into and through Fishers Sound. Can be a very foggy area.

This Harbor of Refuge has 3 guest moorings all the way in next to the town pier. The fishers cast out about that far, so it can be a bit odd. The rule with the yacht club moorings is that you can grab any one that's empty, but might get booted if the owner shows up. I've called the club and been able to confirm that I was on a safe one, but that might not always be the case. Use the town dock as a dinghy dock for accessing restaurants and shopping, of which there is a ton. The walk to the main drag is nice, runs along a school, and Main St has multiple bookstores as well as a nice hardware store and plenty of food.

We saw a couple balls with the yellow ribbon, indicating ok to use. But also called the North Cove YC for guidance. The first ball we tried had no pendant, but we found one that had a pendant and a yellow ribbon. Not going in, just an overnight stop. Should be peaceful and quiet.
