Shelter Cove and their friendly staff continues to be a great place to spend a couple of nights or a couple of months. Here again for the winter months, the facility is a perfect way to enjoy Hilton Head and surroundings. This year we brought our adult children down for the holidays and rented a condo at the marina for them. Such a great way to get the family together.
Access to pickleball and tennis at Palmetto Dunes helps to keep us in shape too!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This year, as you transit south, make some time to visit Hilton Head. There are closer options on the ICW, but NONE compare to the experience at Shelter Cove. The journey up Broad Creek is worth it, the views, the dolphins and ultimately the tranquility of Shelter Cove will be worth it. Surround yourself with a top notch marina and staff while stocking up at the area locations all a bike ride away ( and you get loaner bikes!!)

The JB service remains exceptional. I stopped for fuel and the rate was $1.42 today. The Ship Store is stocked very well for small grocery needs, drinks, boat parts (or choose to go to East'ards on-site to get even more, again, all at fantastic pricing. JB Boatworks is the place to get work done as well. very fair and knowledgeable.

This is a return visit to Shelter Cove Marina for the M/V Hail Mary in 2019. The quality, cleanliness and amenities of this marina make it a clear choice for travelers. The warm and friendly staff ensure that any need is considered and attended to, quickly. If you have travel plans on the ICW in the coming weeks, you must stop here to view the decorations and enjoy the Christmas Spirit. Definitely call quickly as they are filling up!

Excellent dock. Note there is space at the bulkhead as well as to starboard next to Oriental Marina (free pumpout is there too).
Great access to several eateries to walk to and a wonderful provisioning store.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Protected and holds very well. Anywhere along the northern beach inside is perfect. Lots of water right up to shore for easy dinghy rides to the beach. Visit during the season and ride the dinghy to the lighthouse and take a tour to the top. Beautiful views!

This is now the operational bridge. The drawbridge just south has been removed and there is now. 65’ clearance through Gallants Channel with no bridge openings required

Hilton Head has several marinas to select from when planning your stay. My wife and I reviewed the location and amenities of all options and nothing stood out as well as Shelter Cove. I spent about a week of our first month here with only my boat and bicycle and found everything in the immediate area, shops, grocery, happy hours, and nice riding paths.
Having spent time in marinas from western Florida to North Carolina, I can assure anyone that the People make Shelter Cove the success we feel it is. Jason Wheeler and his staff are the most accommodating people I have come across at a marina. Shawn and Clayton work tirelessly to ensure that any need is tended to immediately, which is such a joy when living aboard.
Of course the amenities at the marina, including restaurants, boat side pump-out (offered twice per week!) and plenty of new (and free) laundry are the icing for this 5-star marina.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
