Very nice well maintained marina. Empty because of covid. Marina itself very well protected from winds. The pilings are bare wood so be sure to have your fenders handy when tying up. Very nice beach area next to marina. We tried anchoring off the jetty first but the tidal current was substantial and I knew I would not be happy sleeping there. Hence the move to the marina while we wait for favorable gulf stream crossing weather. Lol. The marina is open despite covid although at reduced staff. The wifi is useless with almost no throughput even when connected. This was similar at GBYC in Freeport. BTC service works, however. T-Mobile for phone calls works although data throughput is very very slow.

Nice marina. Clean, new-ish, and very empty when we visited in May 2021. Good power and water. Short staffed but understandable given the lack of clientele because of covid. Dog friendly and very convenient for check-in given the customs and immigration offices on site. The wifi was useless as has been the case at other marinas on GB. Great drinks at Rosie's. The oncoming waves in a 15 kt wind from the south were a challenge when exiting the harbor. Competition for Haulover! I guess I need a bigger boat!

We anchored on the northeast side of Gun Cay in front of the second beach down from honeymoon harbor. Mostly grass but a few sandy spots. We held fine in 15 kn wimds from the south. Not flat, but comfortable enough. A great place to dinghy in with the dog. Good cell service. A couple rays met us a t the beach looking for handouts.

This is a great little harbor very close to Miami. Although other reviews have suggested great holding, I had to reset the anchor a couple times before going to bed. LoL. This is critical as boats tend to be crammed together pretty close to each other in this harbor. I suggest the park service add mooring balls! Although there is a nice park at the site, it is very busy with non-boating visitors as was the restaurant on site. The place is definitely dog friendly but the access to the sea wall was quite high requiring one to physically lift out you dog (and drop it back in) to the dinghy. Although overnight tie-up tp sea wall is not allowed, one can do this during the day and this is sometimes easier that ferrying the dog to the wall via a dinghy. Overall a great spot except for the crowds.

This is a great spot if the winds are coming from the west as they were for us (15-20). Minimal current, 1.5 ft tide or so and a handful of other boats parked at significant distance away. The t-mobile cell service was decent (>10 MBS bandwidth on my MiFi, enough to watch Netflix). The beach access by dinghy was good although the fixed dock was too high to get my dog out so beach access was the way, which was good. Unfortunately not much to see and there did not appear to be paths going anywhere except to favorite places for folks to defecate. Lol. Very few fish in the sea grass and the bottom was littered with old cans and bottles from the many years of parties on the water. On a clear day, Miami can be seen to the north.

Overall, for us at the time, this was a great place to park the boat for the night and take to dog to shore for a short walk.
