He was very polite and told us the island is private and the owner doesn't want people walking around. They now own the whole island and have had problems with theft and vandalism.

We stopped here 8/25/2023 for one night. The concrete dock was in good quality but there is no power or water. The wooden dock in good shape but was covered with seagulls. People are very friendly and a restaurant is close by. It is also near a racetrack, so we could hear the Friday night races. It is a busy area with plenty of traffic on the roads and the water.

Free Dock Review for Bellamy Harbor Park

We found that this stop was not catered to cruisers at all. We had to tie up to the concrete wall which was in very poor shape. It was difficult finding a safe spot to tie up due the poor condition of the timbers and the large amount of old, rusty bolts sticking out. The park itself was nice but there was only one garbage can around. The washrooms and showers in the Navigation center were in good condition, but were locked at 7:10 am. It was a fair walk to the laundromat and shopping. The train crossing is close by but not visible. If you need to stop, it's workable with proper fenders and dock lines but, I would pass on this one.
