Venice, FL
About 15 miles south of Sarasota, Venice is one of Florida’s younger towns. You will find boutiques, a theater and a variety of dining options around a central green, which was planned in the 1920s with a Mediterranean theme.
As you can imagine there are several good Italian restaurants here. You shouldn’t leave Venice feeling hungry. It is a short walk to one of the widest and loveliest beaches on Florida’s west coast from the marinas. Fossilized sharks’ teeth–either gray or black and with a triangular shape–are abundant here.
