We stumbled onto TJ's almost by accident and are glad we did. Nice clean facilities, great staff, and good pricing. Add to that one of the friendlier towns we have visited from The Keys to New England. Belhaven was a great stop over. Highly recommend TJ's!

Arrived Thursday planning a haul-out on Friday to conduct 100 Hr service on outboard, then enjoy Belhaven for the weekend, departing for the Dismal Swamp on Monday. We encountered a need for an additional repair and it required a couple of weeks to get the part in and warranty work completed. During that time, TJ and Rob treated us like family and ensured our stay in Belhaven as an excellent one despite the delay in our travels.

The Marina and Boatyard facilities were excellent. Their courtesy car and golf carts were great assets. A Marina expansion is underway which will greatly increase the marina footprint. It was a short walk to downtown and we enjoyed the walk to the brewery, restaurants, ice cream shop, and shopping. Everyone in town was just as welcoming as the folks at the marina. TJ's also has four VERY nice rental cabins with full kitchens, and a nice porch to relax on in the afternoons. Great for a stay while fishing, or just to get off the boat while it is in the hard.

We could not have asked for a better location to be delayed for a while and will definitely return to Belhaven and TJ's Marina. Thanks for all of your help and for making our stay a Great one !!

We are Fulltime Live Aboards on a 36' American Tug Trawler mostly traveling up and down the east coast. Being nomadic, usually on the move, finding good honest and qualified people to work on our boat when we have issues can be a major challenge.

Luckily, while spending the winter at nearby Washington, NC, a few folks suggested we utilize TJ's to resolve some issues we had encountered. TJ's very quickly and efficiently resolved the specific problems we came in for and also noted a couple of other minor problems which we thankfully had them fix. All work was completed at an extremely fair price.

TJ's, while mostly a Boatyard w minimal Transient dockage, is currently in the early stages of a major expansion which would result in vastly increased Transient dockspace.

The Boatyard is extremely clean, very protected from wind and current, close to Belhaven's restaurants and shops, and also has very new well built Docks, electrical pedestals, etc. Additionally, TJ the owner, his wife Crystal who handles billing, Rob the chief mechanic, and Boo who handles bottom paint, sanding and such are all very friendly and welcoming folks.

We would not hesitate to return to TJ's for any future boat work and look forward to the expansion of their dockage.

We had a list of maintenance items to get fixed and sent the list to TJ and to River Forest for estimates. TJ came back with estimates and explanations on what it all entailed so we would not be surprised if the job did not go as planned as some of the items might be a bigger job as we got into them. The other marina would not quote us for any of the work. The work that was performed exceeded our expectations and he was spot on with the estimates and one job was more involved and he nailed that estimate also so there was no suprises. The people and facilities are very nice. We ended up staying for 3 months as we just enjoyed the people. We lived aboard on the hard for 2 months. Great stop and great service.

Brought Latitude Adjustment on Apr 26. Felt we had port engine problem, drove 20+ miles to TJ's on Starboard engine. They looked at issue immediately & decided not engine problem so we did short haul with suspect of having grabbed a crab pot. This was done within 30 minutes of arrival. Removed crab pot that was twisted around port prop & rope from SB prop. Offered the haulout bay to berth us for nite at great rate! Also helped with minor genny problem in morning. If you need a great crew to look at your boat, call TJ'S Marina.

TJ's Marina is a wonderful family-owned and run business. All the crew at TJ's Marina, including TJ and his wife, were super friendly and helpful. We were made to feel right at home. We hauled Schooner Huron Jewel out for a 2-week period for some maintenance and repairs. We're a large vessel, so we were glad to find a location that could handle us and that allowed us to do the work ourselves.
The crew at TJ's was very helpful with providing information about where to obtain parts or materials if they couldn't quickly order them through their catalog, which they offer at reasonable prices. We were also able easily to receive packages shipped c/o the marina.
The amenities were very good also - they have nice clean and large showers, reasonably priced laundry, courtesy car or golf cart, internet, and town is a short walk away to the hardware store, restaurants, and even barber/hairdresser.
The other boaters at the marina, including those living aboard, were also super friendly and readily welcomed us into their marina community.
One never likes to contemplate the bill at the end of a stay, but the rates that we were charged were very reasonable.
    We highly recommend TJ's Marina!

Exceptional service! Called Friday morning in need of a short haul out to adjust our prop. TJ made room for us that day. Very welcoming, and happily extended our stay when we found another engine issue and had to wait for a part to be shipped. Folks staying in the boat yard all extremely kind and TJ and all the staff were extremely helpful and hospitable! We're so fortunate to have found this place!
