  • Reviews Summary

The reviews for the marina highlight a generally positive experience, with several key points emerging:

    1. Facilities and Amenities: The marina is described as large and well-maintained, featuring a full-service fuel dock, clean restrooms, a pool, fitness center, and community areas. Recent upgrades have improved amenities, making it appealing for visitors. However, some reviews noted that certain amenities, like the pool, were under construction during their stay.

    2. Staff and Service: Many reviewers praised the staff for being friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, often going out of their way to assist guests, especially in times of need, such as mechanical issues with boats.

    3. Location: The marina is situated a bit away from the main channel, requiring a longer trip to reach it, but many found the scenic views and quiet environment worth the extra travel. It is also conveniently located near downtown Grand Haven and Spring Lake, though some amenities are not within walking distance.

    4. Accessibility: Reviewers mentioned the importance of checking bridge heights before arrival, as there are discrepancies in reported clearances. Some noted that docking assistance may be limited during busy times, particularly on holiday weekends.

    5. Overall Experience: Guests enjoyed the overall atmosphere, describing it as pretty and peaceful, with good dining options nearby. While some found the marina to be a bit pricey, many felt it was a worthwhile destination and expressed a desire to return.

In summary, the marina is well-regarded for its facilities, helpful staff, and pleasant location, despite some minor accessibility challenges and occasional service limitations during peak times.

We stayed there Sept 8-10 2025. Great deep water marina, very large and full service marina. We stopped on way in for fuel and had trouble getting stbd engine started. They called for a mechanic who came by our slip within the hour, diagnosed the problem and had part ordered. They had it replaced and we were able to be on our way when we wanted. Great facility and staff. Very walkable with the dogs. Quiet and very pretty views. It is a long way back to the channel coming in and takes about 30 min from lake to the marina and you have to get one bridge opened. Grand Haven is a very pretty town with good restaurants and artsy vibe going on. Would recommend and would stay there again.

This is a great location. We own a slip here and love the location. A 5 minute ride around the corner and you are in beautiful Spring Lake. 20 mins west and you are in downtown Grand Haven by the free wall and the mouth of Lake Michigan.

Amenities are newly upgraded as of 2024 with pool, laundry, community area. also has a shower house separate from the main area.

Fuel dock is easy in and easy out with super helpful staff.

Large marina with mostly seasonal customers. Pool, fitness center,
basketball courts and small dog park. Typical large marina if you arrive during
busy weekend (we arrived during Labor Day holiday) expect no help with docking.
We noticed all seasonal customers were docking their own boats. Inside
slips are protected from wind and wakes from all directions. Drug store and
restaurant within half mile but downtown shops and pubs are a bit over a mile.
Best to use bikes or scooters. Route 31 bridge (just outside marina) clearance
was 17.5 feet the day we arrived. Check with bridge operator on VHF 16 for
    current height upon arrival.

Editor Note: Lake Michigan water level 25 inches above Low Water Datum.

Marina seems to cater to pontoons and day boats, lots of Sea Rays. We were there during the Coast Guard festival, and were placed on the VIP dock. Radio unanswered and no help docking. Not really close to any amenities by foot, but easy bike ride into downtown. Bridge height is questionable, with sources saying 25 ft vs 15 ft. A signboard on the east side of the bridge said 16 ft August 2024. Very nice facilities with clean restrooms, pool, laundry, exercise room, and boater lounge. Coffee and donuts on Saturday mornings in the lounge. Pricey, but was the only thing we could get during the Coast Guard festival.

    WG Editor Comment:

Bridge is listed at 25 feet on NOAA chart.

This marina is a ways off the lake, so little to no effect. It's worth the cruise back to this location. There is a pool, the bathrooms are newer and really clean. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful!!

The location is fine. The sidewalk gets you to Starbucks, Applebees and some shopping if you need it. Health Hutt is about a mile away. The bow in slip with the power at the opening of the dock is easy. No pool, no internet. Staff is very nice.

Spent two nights here in July 2022. A good marina. Its a ways upriver at no-wake speed.
Shopping/dining is a bit of a hike. Highway bridge height is unmarked but we cleared at 18.5 '. Marina does not monitor VHF. Either reach them by phone or visid the fuel dock for assistance. Denise on the dock and staff at store were very helpful. Slips, docks, power and water are all good. Restrooms and showers were spotless. Pool is under construction :-(

Great marina and fantastic staff who are extremely helpful. We felt we were treated like royalty all of the time. Appleby's a short walk away.
