The marina and location are good, but if you're sensitive to noise, be warned that every time a vehicle drives over the nearby drawbridge, it sounds like rumbling thunder or bow thrusters. Also, the restaurant uses a leaf blower between midnight and 12:30 am (maybe this is just on rainy days, we were here waiting out the weather.)

We stayed on our way to Okeechobie. Easy to dock in front of the restaurant .The marina office is almost 1/4 mile from the marina. We hailed them as we came in and were told to go to channel 14. Went to 14 and nothing— no response to calls on either 14 or 16. Luckily some bar patrons helped us with our lines. This happened to another boat the same day. Then we had to move after all lines ,electricity and water hooked up. It was chaos as three boats were told to dock in the same space. We were blocked in but had good neighbors that left early as well so we could leave. The facility is nice, great location for transit and the restaurant next to the dock served good food. I'd stay again but won't expect any assistance or organization.

We stayed here 3 nights between 01Feb-05Feb2024 and had a great experience. The marina isn't scenic per se as ot's right next to a major road, but the VIP lounge is nice and the Boathouse restaurant next to the marina has GREAT food and reasonably priced. Lots of grassy area to walk dogs. The marina is narrow, so it could be tricky for less experienced folks or those without a bow or stern thruster. We're experienced enough that it wasn't an issue the two times we rode in to a slip. Electric, water, and fuel all available here. Great, friendly staff.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at this marina. We were in a secure location and very close to the awesome boaters lounge. It's like a little house. The only difficulty that arose was the difficulty using the TV. It is not very intuitive..Walking our dogs wasn't the best experience and dogs aren't really welcomed at the beach or restaurant so they spent a lot of time onboard. Restaurant and pool were very busy. Had to use the shuttle to get there. Staff was e trembly helpful and welcoming and we were inside so had a very smooth night with great sleep.

The dock hands and office staff were friendly and extremely helpful. They have cement bulkheads with pilings to tie off to and a 1.5 ft tidal change which makes it challenging to get on and off depending upon the tide. Fun restaurant on site.

I learned from my mistakes by choosing this marina over the other nearby marina. Arrived at 4 p.m. as the rain began, and I was pleased that I was in a secure location on the waterway in a quiet canal. Docked my 34 ft power boat, and made arrangements to spend the night at the transient dock. The management provided a key to the showers and restrooms that were quite a distance away compounded by the rain, but provided a quick transportation mode with the use of a golf cart driven by one of the staff members.
Then, the experience declined. Returned to the boat and a powerboat zoomed closely by with a more excessive wake than I experienced in the past eight hours of travel on the waterway, disrespectful to other boats at the dock. They were apparently showing how fast they could go for anyone who cared to look at them. The management agreed with this rude display and said that was one of the boats that had dockage space at their marina.
The next error in choices was between dinner onboard or going to the restaurant. I chose the restaurant. Entered the restaurant at 6 p.m. and ordered a beverage, read the menu and then ordered a simple BLT sandwich ($42.00 for two beers, a turkey club sandwich and a BLT). The facility was not busy with customers. Forty minutes after placing the food order, the food was delivered; an unacceptable wait time.
After finishing the meal, we said that we would appreciate that golf cart ride to the showers as the delay in waiting for the meal to be served and finished, lead to nightfall outside, compounded with heavy rains preventing a dry stroll to the other facility. We were told by the restaurant staff that they let the driver of the golf car go home early and there was not any transportation. No concessions were offered to transport us in the rain and dark.
The following morning, the marina staff arrived at the boat to collect the key to the showers. I shared my story above. He apologized, that was all. Certainly not customer friendly service being provided. I stated that I would never return to this facility and would definitely pass the story on-wards.

    WG Editor Comment:
    Marina Response.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience here at the marina and restaurant. For a 34' boat we should have docked you down our canal in one of our finger pier slips and you wouldn't have had the wake problem and would have been right next to the boaters lounge for showers and bathrooms. Sorry again for a bad first stay for you I hope we are able to earn a second chance and get you in a slip next time.

    Thanks,

    Sweetwater Landing Marina
