The Charlevoix City Marina is run by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and reservations are made online. This marina is beautiful and sits on the edge of the town of Charlevoix next to a well-manicured park. The marina has very stable floating docks that are well maintained, power pedestals at each slip, and the marina office is conveniently located at the end of the dock. The marina lounge is very well appointed with tables and chairs and a large screen TV. The Wi-If is good and the restrooms/showers are very clean. The grounds are exceptionally pet-friendly. The town of Charlevoix has numerous shops, art galleries, restaurants, and a grocery store all within a tem-minute walk . Four of us dined at Terry's Place at Bridge and Antrim streets and we all had excellent meals. Note that the bridge at the entrance to Round Lake is only 15 feet, snd only opens on the hour and half hour for about five minutes.

Nice place. Easy access to fuel dock. Smooth evening. No movement. Easy walking distance to a grocery store and multiple little eateries. Find out their hours before you go as many change during week or in shoulder seasons.

If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars I would. World Class. Nicest restrooms / bath house / laundry we've seen. Super helpful staff- we received a courtesy call prior to arrival. Multiple boats arriving together and they managed it perfectly. Biking distance to Mushroom Houses. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the immediate area.

Beautiful well kept marina in a park in the middle of town. Farmers market on Thursday am. Try the Villager Pub for great perch and whitefish. Terry's is a nice upscale restaurant with delicious food too. The laundry room has 2 washers and dryers $1.50/$1. There is a very nice lounge and the restrooms and private showers are very clean. The marina staff is very nice and was extremely accommodating since we stayed extra days to do repairs.

Nice marina. We had no contact with staff other than making the reservation via phone so hard to rate in this area. Beautiful town with plenty of restaurants and nice hotel. Would definitely go there again.

Really enjoyed this stop. Lots to do in town & we took our dinghy to Lake Charlevoix and visited the beach. Only pump out is at Ward Marina & it was $30, ridiculous price but we had no choice.

We really liked this marina, especially Charlevoix. Competent and very friendly staff, used the complementary bikes to tour the mushroom houses. Lots of good shopping very close and nightly entertainment.

My favorite marina on the west coast of Michigan. Hard to beat the location with the marina on Round Lake immediately adjacent to town. There's a grass covered hill between the marina and Main Street. This is where they host craft fairs and other events. The facilities are nice and well cared for - clean! Dock hands are super helpful. They made getting tied up a breeze. Floating docks with big cleats all around. The biggest challenge is getting a reservation. But people do cancel so give them a call. Water is deep (20' at our slip). From Round Lake you can head into Lake Charlevoix which is a good place to explore if Lake Michigan is too rough. It's a big lake - 13 miles to Boyne City on the east end. The channel in from Lake Michigan is plenty deep (a ferry goes in and out to Beaver Island). The draw bridge opens every half hour in the summer.

The entrance into Round Lake and the municipal marina is through a long breakwater and canal with a bascule bridge that lifts on the half hour between 6 am and 10 pm. Outside of those hours is lifts on demand. The bridge is the main street in the village and is quite heavily travelled so boats are encouraged to be ready and waiting when the light turns green.
The marina is beautiful. Very clean gang washrooms with showers, laundry and boaters lounge. Dog walking in the beautiful park adjacent to the docks, The park also has tables, benches, outdoor amphitheatre, splash pad and fish ponds and a farmers market on the weekend.
Groceries about 1/2 mile walk, lots of things to see and a range of restaurants. As others have mentioned, fuel and pump-outs are available about 100 yards away, slightly south of city docks.
Winds tends to swirl around in Round Lake so boats will move around.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Everything about this marina is top notch. There are no service facilities, however. The docks, bathrooms, lounge and laundry are modern and clean. The dockhands are helpful and knowledgeable. All shops are located within walking distance, and they have loaner bikes for transient use.
The only big downside is that it is very hard to get a reservation for this marina through the DNR system, since there are not many transient spots. So make your reservations early--you shouldn't miss this city and marina.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We spent the night here while transiting from Holland to Toledo. The docks are excellent and the dockhands provided outstanding assistance in getting settled. The facility is the best I've seen thus far, with the minor exception of not having refueling or pumpout capability - that is available next door at Ward Brother's. Simply a fantastic place to stop!.
