The transient slips have solid docks, power and water. The transient slips close to the pool are moderately close to the official boat house, but the slips on the other side of the lodge are 1/3 mile away from the bath house, ship store, etc... Fuel was crazy expensive. As stated by previous reviews, the restaurant food is very average, although the personnel staffing the restaurant work hard and are pleasant. Gorgeous area with lots of trails.

As reviewed previously, Kyle and his staff do an amazing job managing a very dynamic situation with the Wilson lock issues. It would be easy for them to wash their hands of it because its not "their" issue, but they do not. Schedule changes, coordination, helping boats in & out all while maintaining a smile and good humor. Great facility- and the onsite restaurant is pretty good as well. Entrance is somewhat narrow but depths are good.

This marina receives high marks due to it's excellent communication. Prior to arrival, we received a text message with entry instructions and other particulars, something good we've seen from other marinas. What we received that differentiates them was a map of the marina with a handwritten path and arrow how to get to our slip. Zero confusion and perfectly clear. Solid docks and all necessary amenities. Lovely area.

Perfect example of a small family owned marina where the onsite owners work very hard to make sure their transient guests have a good experience. Very busy with Looper traffic, they worked very hard to accommodate everyone. The onsite restaurant is first class- we stayed 2 nights and ate 3 meals there because it was fantastic. Some of the best desserts on the entire loop. Tight entrance but nothing unreasonable.

First rate marina. The staff is super helpful and offers true Southern Hospitality. The Cinnamon Rolls are a legend. There is a fair amount to do in the immediate area like the Loretta Lynn museum and National Parks. Use the secondary markers to enter the marina - Navionics will try to direct you via the main marker, which is incorrect. Confirm this with the marina prior to entering. Solid floating docks, electric and shower / restroom facilities. Cell service in the area is difficult.

Easy in / out- with River levels low it was a little thin at 6' in a few spots. The lodge is within walking distance and a great place to relax. If you go for dinner get there early - like 4:00. Fire pits make for a fun evening. Nature center is a stroll away. Solid docks, power, showers and restrooms. Secure. It is remote, but that's part of the charm.

Agree with most recent reviews, with these additional items: When existing Barkley Lock, a large number of boats can converge on the marina at once. They could do a better job managing this traffic similar to how Heritage Harbor does so by directing boats in individually. Do not be tempted to cut the corner coming into the marina- go to the South side of the marina and follow the marked channel in. Patti's restaurant is a must do. If you plan on having work done during a busy time you should schedule 2-3 weeks in advance. There are other techs that work in the marina, just ask the office for their contacts. Overall a great marina and there's a reason it's a Looper staple.

The docks themselves are solid. There is good power and water but no restroom facilities. The 3 star rating is due primarily to the fuel situation. We observed their website that you needed to call and reserve a time to fuel, which we did. We were told they didn't fuel on Saturday or Sunday, and would need to wait until Monday, which we agreed to. However, we observed that several boats fueled on both Saturday and Sunday so their internal communication suffers. There is no office onsite, so if you need to receive a package it's impossible unless you get creative. The town itself is fantastic. Does Steakhouse is a must-do.

Took a few tries to set anchor- felt like some soft silt but in mild conditions anchor held good. Super easy in / out. Will get mild wakes from tow traffic. During lower water we anchored in 15' of water in the Ohio- the branch itself was impassable. Great overnight anchor when transiting the area.

During our stay when the water was quite low we still had 5-8 feet. At this time there is a small current which helps minimize swing. 6 looper boats easily fit, with space for another few. Be prepared to power your way into the canal due to the current moving past the entrance. Once inside the current reduces significantly in a few moments.

River gage at Cape Girardeau MO. 9.4 feet.

Friendly yacht club that accepts transients. About 5 miles outside of Peoria- not a bikeable area. Good restaurant onsite, good bath and shower facilities. Laundry available but few machines and the dryer doesn't work great (2 cycles). There's a pool in season. Decent pump out equipment and good help. Due to the low river levels, entrance somewhat shallow but doable for us. Marina will give you entrance guidance.

Enjoyed this very nice setting a lot. On the entrance found in other reviews- it's not much of an issue except if you have a strong sustained NE wind building into the entrance. Its more of a visual thing than an actual hazard, but care should be taken. This is a very busy marina, so it can't be that bad. There are 2 different sides to the marina- I'll call it the main side and the island side. I'd request the island side because it has much better protection. The only way to get off the island side is by A) dingy or the marina staff will pick you up in their very cool electric picnic boat. When we called for the ferry boat it was there in minutes. Very helpful staff- 3 dock hands to help us tie up. Solid floating docks with good power. Restrooms and showers, while basic, were adequate. The downgrade from a 5 star is primarily that they charge a $30 cash deposit for the key to the dock gate (which is usually open anyway), so you have to wait for the office to open before you get your cash deposit back. Hence, if you want to depart earlier than the office opens then you have a problem. Why not make it part of the credit card charge and then credit the deposit back like other marinas do? Also, at $2.25 per foot it is more expensive than nicer marinas in Buffalo and Erie.

A great stop with power, water and restrooms. Plenty of cleats in a quiet park setting. Only concern is A) depth and B) unclear check-in process. Water depth is somewhere around 6-6.5 feet. There are numerous signs with a website to check-in and pay, but the website doesn't function well and it indicates that a 24 hour notice is required for a reservation. We left a voice mail at the number listed. Very nice area with an Aldi within a .4 mile walk.

Great stop. My only reason for a 4 star rating is the construction of the wall / boards are akward and if you're not paying attention you could easily hurt yourself. I know you could say that anywhere, but it's especially so here. Not hard to exit the boat, just lots of opportunity for miss-step. Even if you're not a train person, the train museum is not to be missed (the stop if worth it for that alone). Some very good restaurants within walking distance. The welcome center downtown is very helpful. Ace Hardware super close.

Restrooms. $24 per night payable at the very nice gas station next door. Within a short walk is one of the best restaurants we've had in a while - Richardsons Canal House. Incredibly capable and friendly staff- the level of ownership is amazing and they truly want you to have a good experience. The facilities may not be the fanciest, but they are more than acceptable, and it was a great stop. Only negative is no laundry, but they have a loaner car with a very nice laundromat in town. Good bathrooms, no showers. No laundry or pump out. As mentioned, entrance is a bit narrow and can accumulate debris but depths are good. Some have commented that the seawall provides good protection. I think it depends on the direction and duration of the wind. During our stay we experienced significant waves breaking the barrier and rocking the entire marina which made walking on the docks dangerous. Minor damage to our boat, but more significant to others. As mentioned, Steve is great, but he is only 1 person and as far as we could tell he was the only one working with customers at the marina. There really is no office, you just ring Steve when you need something, and he is very responsive. No office means some deliveries, like those from the USPS, will not be delivered. Overall the marina needs a good clean-up with lots of materials laying around from leftover projects. The men's bathroom floor will flood anytime the shower is used. Steve works his hardest, but he's only 1 person.

Good location for a stopover. In other reviews I've read about boats running aground at the entrance, and I witnessed that happen to a sail boat. If they can't accommodate larger draft boats they shouldn't invite them in. When I made the reservation they asked my beam, and I gave it as 14'. As I'm entering the marina the dock attendant asks for my beam and that I standy because he was managing another boat, which I did. It became apparent when I called back that he had forgotten I was still waiting. He instructed me to bow into a slip he was standing at. I could see it had short fingers, so I asked "bow in", and he said yes. As I'm approaching a fellow boater points out to him that my beam won't fit in that slip- so he asks my "is your beam 14'?" I say yes and he asks that I "park behind the big boat", to which I then have to clarify what he means. Overall communication was poor.

The negatives: We were on the outside of the mega dock during high wind weather. I can't describe how rolly it was and amazed we didn't end up with damage. Who'd think you have to take motion sickness medicine in a marina. Staff did check on things to see if they could help. The distance from the mega dock to the restrooms is a very long ways. I don't mind the exercise, but it takes forever to get there. No fuel at the time. Although they give you security codes, nothing is secure. If you're going to be there for any length of time I'd recommend at least being on the inside of the mega dock.

My negative review is based on the idea that Safe Harbor, having the resources they do, should do a much better job. We stayed here in a mooring ball for 1 night. The marina has no system for mooring reservations, it's on a first come first serve basis so as you're coming in it's a guess if you have a mooring or not. The mooring balls themselves are not maintained. We attempted to secure a mooring ball on 3 separate occasions before we finally found one that could be used on the 4th try. Balls are missing pennants, pennants are broken, some are zip tied so you can't secure it. We witnessed another boat have the exact same issues of hunting for a functional ball. The staff was apologetic and wanted to be helpful. At the very least, if you're not going to maintain the mooring field clearly label which balls aren't functioning to prevent boaters from roaming around the field looking for a functioning one.

Helpful and competent staff with study docks. Restrooms are acceptable but in somewhat poor repair. Fuel reasonably priced and pumps worked well. Located in a very pretty neighborhood. When we were there the security gate was broken, but it was in the process of being fixed.

Good holding as long as your ground tackle handles a swift switch in current 2-3 times per day. Good AT&T cell coverage. Large area that can hold multiple boats with good depth.

Solid concrete floating dock with good depths. Certainly pay attention to current and plan on moving during or close to slack tide. Stay as close to dock when coming in, especially at low tide. Room for 6-7 boats depending on length. There are public restroom in the adjacent park. During our stay the men's was reasonable but the womans was not useable. There is also a free pump-out just around the corner that you can easily see on the app "Pumpout Nav". I know some have stayed overnight at that pump out dock, but I don't think that's the intent. Great stopover location.

Marina is located perfectly for all the main St. Augustine attractions. Shopping district is easily in walking distance. Lighthouse is an easy bike ride away. Dpon't miss the historic mission North of the marina, and early morning visit there is a treat. Be prepared for tourists to wander the docks. Our particular slip was open to fetch and we had considerable rocking at various times of day and night. Staff is professional and helpful, although the directions into our particular slip could have been better.

Older fixed docks but in reasonable repair. No tide. Local attractions limited, except it is a great location to watch launches from NASA which happen frequently now. Friendly liveaboard community. Nice store on site with good selection. There's a good electrical services contractor on site, Forest King, who was super helpful with chart plotter issues we were having. Very capable and friendly staff.

Previous comments are accurate. Be prepared for a rolly ride if the wind is from the South at all. Solid floating dock, and it's free. The restaurant a few minutes away, Ryan's pizza and pub is a good spot. And, no visit to Cocoa Village is complete without a visit to the SF Travis Hardware store - easily in walking distance. Established in 1885, it's a crazy place words can't describe.

Stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed the Marina and area. Confirmed they do not monitor VHF, and there is no fuel so plan accordingly. Older fixed docks but safe and stable. No discernible tide change while we were there. Somewhat tight for transients on the wall but not horrible. If you're an art lover this is the place for you . Easily a dozen art studios within walking distance. Eau Gallie is a fun town with lots of personality. Very pretty lagoon setting. The restaurant Frigates is close by bike or dingy with great food.

Discount for US Boat or AGLCA to $3.00 ft transient. Tide needs attention coming and going but not too bad. Very helpful dock hands.

Spent 2 nights in the mooring field adjacent to the marina. Dockhands and staff were very helpful with directions in and navigating the mooring field. Due to the number of boats in the mooring field, we rafted next to another appropriate sized vessel. First for us in a mooring field but it worked well. Dingy dock super convenient. Vero Beach is 1.5 miles away, a nice walk through pretty neighborhoods or you can catch the free local bus. No restaurants on site but some within walking distance. Lots of dolphins in the mooring field!

We stayed here on a mooring ball for one night after crossing Lake O. Marina staff super helpful. Good dingy space with lots of options close. My only criticism is it is first come first serve, and based on your boat size they will direct you to certain ball numbers. It makes for a bit of a guessing game where to go and what the numbering sequence is. Seems like a large sophisticated marina like this could establish a reservation system for mooring balls as others do. But overall a good experience.

Stayed for 3 nights waiting on weather. Rural setting, but a very professionally run marina with 2 restaurants and a nice store. As others said, Captain Sam is a gem and super helpful. Hail him on 16 when you clear the lock and he'll be of great assistance. My only "caution" is that the transients are on a long wall on a narrow but deep channel. If you go forward in, you have to reverse out, or visa versa, plan accordingly. Perfect stop for a Lake O crossing.

I gave this rating because it's inexpensive and provides good basic docking with power and water. There is only 1 50 amp. The docking situation is probably most people's concern, but if you're aware and plan for it, it works. Those "slips" with power have no finger pier, so you have to exit the boat via bow or stern, whichever works. We were able to exit via the bow on our Mainsjip 400. On the piers there are no hooks, so you have to get creative on securing the vessel. Port Potty's are available at the library across the street ( clean when I was there). No showers. All said, for the price it's pretty good.

I don't have a whole lot to add from other reviews other than to say they are still correct. You'll see some notifications that the anchorage is closed, but on this date that is not true. That closure is related to the park itself.

Fantastic location. Multiple venues within walking or short Uber ride. No fuel, showers or dump station. Last time here we pointed out that the gate wasn't being closed at night (in fact it wouldn't shut). They've since corrected that and it is secure at night. I normally wouldn't give a marina a "5" with minimal services, but due to location and the fact they corrected the security issue deserves that rating.

As others have noted, power and water only. No fuel, pump out or showers. Given that, the rates are reasonable. Fantastic location. Right downtown with good access to lots of restaurants and things. Even more a short Uber away. Dock hands were very friendly and helpful. My only reason for 4 stars is that the gate that secures the dock at night was chained open and unable to be closed. The convention center manages that gate. Overall a very nice marina in a great location.
