Anchored adjacent to the Deltaville Tap and Raw Bar intending to have dinner there only to find out that they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The anchorage itself was fine with good holding in 7 ft of water. Anchor chain came up with a sticky, muddy mess.

We anchored here on November 3, 2023. We anchored near the house that is on the point of land (where you could take a slight right or left turn). Anchored in 7' of water. Mud bottom, with good holding. It is a great place to spend the night.

We anchored just east of this point and just south of the free city dock. Quiet with 8-9' depth, mud bottom. We had difficulty getting our anchor to hold in the spot further into the bay however.

Great stop if you need a sheltered anchorage and don't belong to a yacht club (nearby Fishing Bay Yacht Club will give one night free reciprocal dockage with power and water, if you belong to a participating yacht club). If you stay here on the weekend, people will be riding jetskis and towing waterskiers around your anchored boat here. Otherwise, this is a peaceful and idyllic stop.

Stopped over on our way south to ICW. Several other boats anchored and plenty of room. Very calm and quiet. Fishing Bay Yacht Club was fun to visit…great southern hospitality to us "poor" transient boaters.

Spent the night here with 3 other looper boats, anchor held well in the "thick mud" through a number of good gusts and wind shifts.

Shore access via the free dock you passed on the way in.

    Nice and peaceful place

This is my favorite Deltaville Anchorage for peace and quiet and total protection. You are protected from all directions with very little boat traffic.

It is a good safe anchorage. I suggest you may not want to dock at free dock, as it is a bit rough. Anchor out here and dinghy in.
