Very quiet anchorage with more than enough depth for any boat. Dolphins were there during high tide times...Loved that! Wind kicked up at certain times with no issues on the hook....generally protected from the southeast to southwest. I have T-Mobile and service was extremely spotty. My husband has AT&T and had decent service. Overall great peaceful stop. Highly recommend it.

We stayed one night at it was wonderful! Winds were 5-8mph out of the southeast, to south, to west by morning and our anchor held very well. The area between the 2 bridges (from Beaufort to Port Royal) was to be no-wake, but some smaller boats did not adhere to that, but it wasn't horrible. Port Royal marina was right here and had a very nice little restaurant that we ate at. Easy access via dinghy. We don't have pets so didn't opine on that, but there really isn't a shore unless you consider the marina "shore access". Definitely recommend it!

Stopped over on our way south to ICW. Several other boats anchored and plenty of room. Very calm and quiet. Fishing Bay Yacht Club was fun to visit…great southern hospitality to us "poor" transient boaters.

Very windy day (12-15 mph winds) so a bit difficult to set anchor but once we got a good hook it held even in very turbulent moments. Creek is frequented by local boaters who go full speed most of the time during the day, but super quiet at night. Went for a dinghy ride and about a mile or so up the windy creek we found a GREAT local convenience store/"trading post" - Blackwater Trading Post - that had great food, beer selection and local folks!! What a pleasure! Ok
