Spent several days here waiting out weather. Fixed docks, and with north winds it did get bumpy when against the current. With that said, it is an easy approach, dock hand was helpful, internet fast, cell reception good, showers and bath might be considered rustic but clean and they worked well. Secure place to be. Would use again.

Only planned on stopping for fuel however, the friendly energetic dock hands and the smell of the on-site grill persuaded us to stay for a night. No complaints, would visit again.

I needed a place to sort out a faulty alternator and pretty much every place else was full or wanted over $2 per foot. Even though they cater to larger sport fishers, Vonnie the dock master and her crew got us sorted out for the several days we waited for parts. Showers, laundry, WIFI, and several cafes and a small grocer under a mile. Would visit again.

One boat did drag in the 40 mph wind causing a couple of us to move about, but we pretty much held with 50 feet of chain out. No real complaints, it is a secure place to anchor. Always had 2 or 3 bars on cell.

Anchorage Review for Bogue Sound - Spooner Creek

Draft: 3.7'Overall Rating:5Wind Protection:5Current Flow:5Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:5Cell Service:5Nice anchor point but a little tight. With 50 feet out you are pretty close to the residential docks. No weather so cannot comment on holding but anchor was covered in soft mud. Did not leave the boat. Cell service excellent and least we had was 3 feet under keel on approach and inside the middle of the creek.

Ok, left initial review in August. Thought we were leaving but got delayed by engine trouble resulting in having to spend Hurricane Dorian with these folks. Talk about customer service. Helped anchor the boat out in a safe location. Helped us find a place to stay with one of their resident customers (Thanks Danny & Cheryl) and really went above an beyond getting us comfortable. Marina ended up assisting about 12 boats with anchoring and all the boats survived the recorded 100 mph winds. The owners Steve, Connie, and their kids Zach, Theresa, and Nichole as well as their dock master Jeff are an amazing combination...yeah, we are fans. Take care guys and thanks for everything! David and Luz Fery.
