Easy, off the waterway spot. Good depths and holding. Surprisingly few insect issues, even in August.

A good alternative to Morgan City. No water or power (just a water fountain in the park). Salt the walkable restaurant was closed due to COVID. Good news is, Morgan City Taxi will pick you up and take you to places on their side of the river for cheaper than Uber.

A godsend for traveling the waterway with a slow- moving vessel with a diesel engine. Their amenities are basic but very welcome. The folks who run the place are kind and helpful. When you tie up, use plenty of fenders. The dock for overnight is steel with no bump rails. It is a confusing area of you haven't been there. Transients pull straight in along the yellow- painted dock across from the fuel dock and main building. If you have a keel or draft more than about 3 feet, your turn in from the east should be almost 90 degrees. The area around the public boat ramp next door is very shallow. Restroom, shower, water, cheap fuel, walk to grocery.

The depths here are NOT 8-11. We came in at 5-6. There are numerous small craft buzzing around. The activity slowed way down around sunset, but started up before dawn - about 4:30.

Reviewer states that depth sounder is one foot below waterline.

Find the G27 channel marker and turn left. Behind Dauphin Island. Good holding in the mud, even thru a series of small storms. Reliable depths. Not much wind protection. No shopping, just homes along the shoreline. Okay place to overnight.

We stopped off here to wait out a rainstorm. Not a bad looking place but we were holed up inside. NOTE - you cannot overnight here. Go across the canal to the city marina to stay the night.
