I had a very comfortable night in this Anchorage. I agree that the best place to drop your hook is past the plantation dock where big tree roots are exposed on the southern shore of the river. Make sure you are close to the southern bank when entering or exiting the river to the ICW. Do not cut the corner particularly coming from or exiting to the north. Saturdays and Sundays have lots of folks speeding to a sandbar. I'll pass on weekends.

This Anchorage is in Frederica River close to Fort Frederica National Monument. The assistant superintendent welcomes folks that are anchored nearby and pointed out that there is what he called a dinghy dock on the property. It is actually a manual lift for kayaks but can be used if you were careful about the tide rising and falling. It has a ladder. I have taken my dog numerous times and just clean up after her. She weighs only 30 pounds so I can lift her to the dock if the tide is 1/2 or more. It is a beautiful place with wonderful old oak trees and there is a museum and docets that will tell you all about the history.

We took our integrity 346 (a fly bridge trawler) for a couple of nights and anchored out near Sea Camp dock on Cumberland. Holding it was great even though there is a lot of tidal action. We had about 120 feet of chain and a 22 kg hook. We got there late the first afternoon and took advantage of the daytime docking at the northern end of the quite sturdy floating pier . We made sure to leave at sunset and used the dinghy thereafter except for the morning that we left when we came up to the dock for five minutes and took the dog for her morning constitutional. The pristine beach is only a 30 minute walk across some of the most beautiful trails I have ever seen, with a canopy of wind-worried oaks. There is a cold water shower and toilets close to the beach. If you don't mind riding in sand, the Rangers are quiet bike friendly and just asked me to make sure that my dog was leashed and then I cleaned up after her. We don't live but 40 miles away and our boat is only 20, this place will be our go to.

Great, rustic seafood at dock. Sometimes you can get permission to r.o.n. after a great meal and drinks. Mainly locals patronize the place. No services but gasoline. Worth the stop.

Pleasant stay. Very helpful staff and clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet. Very protected docking. Restaurants near marina seemed permanently closed except for a pizza joint that was okay. Very slow fuel pump. It is obvious that the marina is in a transition to be more friendly to transients. When they finish, it should be five stars. I'll go back someday without hesitation.
