I had a very comfortable night in this Anchorage. I agree that the best place to drop your hook is past the plantation dock where big tree roots are exposed on the southern shore of the river. Make sure you are close to the southern bank when entering or exiting the river to the ICW. Do not cut the corner particularly coming from or exiting to the north. Saturdays and Sundays have lots of folks speeding to a sandbar. I'll pass on weekends.

Beautiful anchorage until the weekend when the locals came out to party. There appears to be a "party shoal' and they did not like us anchored where they cut the corner to their destination.

We were stuck behind a few slow barges so decided to anchor in what the charts said was 9 ft MLW at 2 hrs before low tide and went hard aground in 3.5 feet. Tow boat driver confirmed constant unmarked shoaling. Only try it at high tide.
