Bridge comment on Wasauksing (Parry Island) Swing Bridge
Comment by: Shelley Reagin on Aug 3, 2023

The bridge height listed is 2 feet wrong. It is actually 16' 2". We are 16' 1". Barely and I mean barely fit. Thankful for construction guys to look at us in the level. They guided us through. Whew!

Lock comment on Lock 17 Burritts Rapids
Comment by: Shelley Reagin on Jun 21, 2023
Vessel Type: Power

Draft: 3.0'Wooden floating dock on Ottowa side of lock. Has power, no water. The Kingston side of the lock has a concrete wall with power, no water. Tip to Tip trail is a nice walk with the pups or just to stretch your legs.

For beach going folks this would be great! Good wind protection from straight north wind. Which is what we had.

Stayed the night and had no issues. Slow no wake sign is just on other side of island from anchorage so no boat wakes either. You could easily access shore and take dog ashore.

Bridge comment on CSX Railroad Bridge
Comment by: Shelley Reagin on Jan 8, 2023
Vessel Type: Power

Sllloooww opening and closing. No one ever answered on the radio. Honked horn 3 times no help. Finally called Indiantown Marina where we had stayed and they gave us a number to call. They said when train passes to hail on 9 again. 10 minutes later train came, hailed on radio, 5 minutes later bridge opened.

WG Editor Comment:
The proper horn signal for a bridge opening is one long blast followed by one short blast.
