6-10-24 This is a secure free dock, room for a few boats depending on length. We were on the long dock in 8 ft of water. We did not leave the boat and were the only boat docked here during our stay, very peaceful evening before exiting the Dismal Swamp.

Nice place to stop. About 100 ft dock. Maybe room for 2 boats? Adequate bathrooms(2). Great place to walk or ride bikes on wide paved trail. Don't be surprised if people stop and talk. The bathroom is a stopping point for many of the walkers. It is remote but never got a scary vibe. Remote enough to shower off back of boat if needed.

Nice dock with heated bathrooms. We were there alone. With a child's helmet on the picnic table and a water bottle on the ground, and the bear warning signs, it felt a bit eerie/creepy. To be fair, it's a very nice place.

Quiet place to stop for the night before heading the rest of the way to Deep Creek. Trail looked very inviting but didn't have time to explore far.
As expected the bugs were pretty bad.

May 14 2022 We have stayed here on several occasions. Two unisex lockable restrooms with proper flush toilets. Lighting at night is decent outside the building. Picnic tables and trash container. Nice paved path for walking or biking. Deep creek lock and bridge about an hour run from here. Fixed docks with some padding on the dock poles. Nice and quiet place to chill out and retreat. 24 hour mooring limit.

Stayed 4/25/2022, arriving in the middle of a warm afternoon. Had the 60' face dock to ourselves; the angled 25' side dock is obstructed by a small tree. The restrooms were closed and water off and apparently have been for some time. Perhaps they'll open later in the season. Three picnic tables and a couple of trash cans were available. There's a paved road that's closed to motorized vehicles so we only saw walkers and a dozen or more bicyclists go by (most were disappointed by the closed restrooms). Unlike most of the Dismal Swamp Canal, the sound of traffic was barely audible in the distance. The evening was calm and the night was quiet. Lots of bird songs at dawn. From here an easy run north to make the 8:30am Deep Creek bridge & lock opening. This is a good stop.

Nice free dock with clean restrooms (no showers). Easy access to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, which is great for walking, running, or biking.

LARGE TREE DOWN ACROSS CANAL NEAR THIS DOCK ( south side).. stay to starboard (on dock side) or you will hit the submerged tree trunk. Sorry I did not note the depth as we passed slowly.. watch tree overhang as well if you have a lot of height... our mast is 46 foot and our beam is 15 and we squeaked by...
