Florida ICW: Boynton Beach to Pompano Beach, FL
Lake Worth ends just south of the Boynton Canal at Mile 1034. South from here the ICW becomes a canal with concrete bulkheads lining its borders. Two small, shallow lakes–Wyman and Boca Raton–and a brief stretch of the Hillsboro River are the only naturally formed bodies of water along this route.
This area is well-developed with town following town and beautiful homes surrounded by subtropical growth provide the scenery. Even though the Atlantic Ocean is barely 0.5 mile away in places, you will find it hard to see among the proliferation of houses, motels, high-rise apartments and condominiums that line the route.
