This coastal town has a vibrant 300-year history with lots of stories to tell and long-standing traditions celebrated on a regular basis. If visiting in February, be a part of the historic celebration that has been in Mobile since 1703. Houses are decorated and over 40 parades roll through the downtown during the week-long Mardi Gras celebration. 

At any time of the year you can easily spend an entire day going to museums, parks, shops and restaurants on a walk through the Church St. East and Lower Dauphin St. historic districts. For those with transportation, cross the river to explore the U.S.S. Alabama, a WWII-era battleship docked at a memorial park (2703 Battleship Pkwy.). Open for self-guided tours.
