New Rochelle, NY
The first city on the Westchester shore has two yacht harbors: New Rochelle Harbor and Echo Bay (formerly known as Lower Harbor and Upper Harbor, respectively). Both of New Rochelle’s harbors are confined, busy and interesting for their constant activity. They are crowded with clubs, parks, marinas and moorings for thousands of widely assorted craft.
New Rochelle features more than 270 acres of parkland. Five Islands Park features pedestrian bridges linking various islands as well as fishing docks, beaches, barbecue facilities and an outdoor amphitheater. Neptune Park includes a fishing pier, bocce courts and horseshoe facilities. Glen Island Park comprises 105-acres of the parkland and offers a small, calm beach with plenty of surrounding grassland and several children’s play areas.
