We fortunately arrived as it was opening for another vessel. They waited a while. The rumors are true…

Nice Anchorage to break up run from Mobile to Bay St. Louis. Tucked a few hundred yards beyond the I90 bridge. Swung 180 as expected with tides. Exposed to N/NW winds.

Anchored at half way point from Mobile Channel and train bridge in 16' of water. Spun in the night as tides recessed. Peaceful.

Everything needed for a rest in the middle of nowhere. Transient dock easily accessible right off channel. Office attendant was kind. We'd happily overnight here again.

Called ahead from Bobby's and lock master communicated when to head downriver to avoid up bound barge.

We arrived at shift change which slowed us 20 minutes in the chamber.

Second overnight stay. Truly a Safe Harbor in Demopolis.

Exactly what you need after a remote run up or down the river:

Laundry. Bathroom/showers. Well stocked store. Kind staff. 10 minutes to Walmart.

Fair warning if loopers or harbor hosts aren't your thing. They will find you upon arrival.

Lock runs on the even hours. Lockmaster kindly spun the lock and allowed us to sneak through before an incoming barge.

Very kind. Speedy ride to get us out of the way.

Anchored beyond the ramp on the waterway guide icon in 11' of water. Zero current which made for a 180 spin all night. Good holding. Anchor came up clean.

Current does interestingly "shift" when lock releasing chamber.

Lock master was very communicative and allowed us to sneak through up and down bound barges. We briefly ran aground taking the advice of one tow while overtaking on the one five miles before the lock.

Lesson learned: trust your judgment not the tow operator.

Lock master dropped us swiftly in about 10 minutes.

Scott met me after hours ,in the dark, with below freezing temperatures and heavy winds.

He guided us in over the phone. Navigate past final red buoy before lock, proceed as if locking through, 150 yards from extended lock wall veer hard to port turning back toward marina. Keep 100 yards minimum off starboard shoreline and arrive to a helping hand.  No frills 2nd generation family marina, yet everything you need for a stop along the TennTom…

A friendly face, reliable electric and safe harbor. Thank you Scott.

We stayed on the transient dock for 2 weeks May 2025 for small repairs. Service team, deck hands and store manager were all very courteous. The slip holders were all nice. This marina has an excellent community feel.

As smooth as can be. Quick 30' drop. Tied to first bollard on the RDB to let door block wind. Lock master was informed by previous lock and he informed the next one we were coming. Cannot say enough good things about the TennTom lock operators.

Agree with all comments below. Approaching the lock 12/29/25 water levels were quite shallow outside of the main channel. Lockmaster courteous. Quick drop.

As described. We entered after dark on the upstream side of the no wake buoy 12/27/25. Depth dropped to 5' (measured from hull bottom of 4'6" draft). After buoy 6-7' measured along dock. Plenty of space for many vessels and numerous trash cans to dump waste. Will return.
